Privacy Policy — Dhawr

Effective date: 19 September 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how Dhawr (“Dhawr”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our websites, mobile apps, and services, including ordering from restaurants/shops, paying, and arranging delivery via our delivery partners (the “Services”).

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Services.

If you are a Vendor or Delivery Partner, your use of the Vendor Panel or Delivery App is also covered by this policy.


2) Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: (a) you provide it; (b) it’s created during your use of the Services; (c) we receive it from third parties.

a) Information you provide

  • Account info: name, phone number, email, password, profile photo, language.

  • Addresses: delivery address, instructions, contact names.

  • Order details: items, notes, preferences, promo codes.

  • Payment info: in-app wallet top-ups, card tokens via payment gateways, mobile money references (e.g., Zaad/eDahab/Edahab/others). We do not store full card numbers.

  • Support content: messages, ratings, reviews, attachments.

  • Vendor onboarding: legal name, contact, business documents, bank/mobile money details, store location, menus.

  • Delivery partner onboarding: ID info, driver’s license, vehicle details, selfies, background checks.

b) Information created/collected automatically

  • Device & log data: IP, device model, OS, app version, browser, crash logs, analytics.

  • Location data:

    • Customers: optional precise location to find nearby vendors/delivery ETAs.

    • Delivery partners: precise, real-time location for pickup, routing, and proof of delivery (required while online).

  • Transaction data: order history, amounts, delivery distance/fees, wallet balance, loyalty points, referral code usage.

  • Cookies & similar tech: to sign you in, remember settings, measure performance.

c) Information from third parties

  • Payments & anti-fraud providers (status of a payment, risk signals).

  • Identity/verification services (for vendors & riders).

  • Marketing/analytics partners (aggregated, de-identified audience insights).


3) How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the Services: account creation, search, ordering, dispatching riders, customer support.

  • Process payments & wallet: charge orders, apply promos/points, settle payouts to vendors/riders.

  • Safety & integrity: verify vendors/riders, detect fraud or abuse, enforce policies.

  • Improve and personalize: app performance, recommendations, language/layout.

  • Marketing & communications: send order updates, receipts, service messages, and (with your consent where required) promotions, offers, and surveys.

  • Legal compliance: taxation, bookkeeping, responding to lawful requests.


4) Legal bases (where applicable)

Depending on your jurisdiction, we rely on:

  • Contract (to deliver the Services you requested).

  • Legitimate interests (to keep Services safe, improve features, prevent fraud, run analytics).

  • Consent (for optional features like marketing push/SMS/email, access to precise location when you’re not actively using navigation).

  • Legal obligations (tax, accounting, KYC/AML obligations for payouts).


5) Sharing your information

We share your information only as needed to provide the Services or as required by law:

  • Vendors (restaurants/shops): items in your order, delivery address (as necessary to prepare/fulfill).

  • Delivery partners: pickup & drop-off details, contact for delivery, order notes, route.

  • Payment providers & mobile money services: to process payments, refunds, chargebacks.

  • Service providers: cloud hosting, analytics, customer support tools, SMS/email providers.

  • Affiliates & business transfers: if we reorganize or sell parts of our business.

  • Law enforcement/legal requests: where legally required or to protect rights, safety, and property.

We do not sell your personal information.


6) Wallet, loyalty & referrals

  • Wallet: you can add funds and pay orders. We keep a ledger of top-ups, spends, and refunds. Withdrawals/payouts follow our Wallet Terms.

  • Loyalty points: we track points earned/redeemed according to your in-app plan.

  • Referrals: we track referral codes to credit bonuses when requirements are met. Fraudulent activity may be blocked and reversed.


7) Vendor & delivery partner specifics

  • Vendors: we store business details, store location, menus/prices, ratings, payout details, transaction reports.

  • Delivery partners: we collect real-time GPS while you’re online, delivery metrics (acceptance, on-time rate), and payout details. Location continues briefly after an order ends to finalize the trip and for fraud/safety checks.


8) Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business needs: tax/accounting, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and to meet legal obligations. When no longer needed, we anonymize or securely delete it.


9) Your choices & rights

Subject to local law, you may:

  • Access your data and request a copy.

  • Correct inaccurate data.

  • Delete your account/data (some records may be retained for legal obligations).

  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time.

  • Manage location permissions in your device settings.

  • Cookies: manage via your browser/app settings.

10) Children

Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child provided information, contact us to delete it.


11) Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data (encryption in transit, access controls, logging). No method is 100% secure; please keep your password and OTPs confidential.


12) International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries where we or our service providers operate (for example, hosting or support teams). We take steps to ensure appropriate protections consistent with this policy.


13) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We’ll post the new version with the “Effective date” above. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email.
